OVERVIEW

Lobuche East Peak Climb and Everest Base Camp spanning at an elevation of 6,119 meters and 5,365 meters above sea level in the Everest Khumbu Himalayan range will reward you with an adventurous and challenging climb along with glorious views of many peaks including the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest at 8,848m. Standing at an elevation of over 6,000 meters, witness the 360-degree panoramic views of mountains right in front for you!

Before climbing Lobuche East peak, prior climbing experience is required for a successful summit, as it is more challenging than other famous trekking peaks in Nepal. Therefore, pre-climbing training will be held at the base camp of the Lobuche by our experienced and professional mountain expert instructors. You will learn to utilize the climbing gear, such as ice axes, climbing boots, and crampons, harnesses, ascenders, etc. and learn essential skills that will bring you the confidence to reach the summit.

The route to Lobuche East Peak!

There are three different trails, the popular trail to Lobuche East Peak Climbing is through the South Ridge, which ascends through steep snow and ice slopes to the top from the summit ridge. The Lobuche East Peak consists of several small summits. Lobuche peak includes two different peaks, Lobuche East Peak at 6,119m and Lobuche West Peak at 6,145m in the Khumbu region that lies above the Lobuche Sherpa village. The West Peak is known as the expedition peak, and East Peak is known as the climbing peak.

The trekking trail to Lobuche East Peak begins with an eye-captivating flight to Lukla where the actual trekking journey starts. You begin trekking along the bank of the Dudh Koshi river and through the dense rhododendron forest, after which you reach Namche Bazaar, a famous, ancient trading post between Nepal and Tibet. Most climbers stop here to acclimatize to the altitude before heading up to the EBC. Then, the trail continues through the Tengboche which is famous for the largest, ancient monastery where the views of mountains at sunrise and sunset are amazing. Walking further, you reach Pangboche, the highest Sherpa village in the Khumbu region, and then Dingboche, a beautiful fertile village. The trail to Lobuche East Peak and Everest Base Camp is filled with multi-colored blooming rhododendrons, pine and juniper forests, beautiful rivers, multiple suspension bridges, chortens—Buddhist shines, Mani walls, and prayer flags. Small settlements of people from different ethnic groups, such as Sherpa will appear along the way.

  1. Day 01 Welcome to Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff members will be waiting at the exit gate to welcome you and take you to the hotel, where you will rest for a while. Our team will be waiting to meet you at our office. In the evening, you will have a welcome dinner along with our team in a typical Nepali restaurant, where you can taste real Nepali food and view a live traditional dance. Also, you will meet our team and your tour guide during a short meeting.

    Note: Dinner and an introductory meeting will be organized as per your arrival time. If it is not the day of your arrival, it will be postponed for the next day.

Hotels, Tea Houses and Lodges

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be in a 3 or 4-star hotel.

Accommodation during the trek will be in tea house or lodges. Some accommodations at lower altitudes offer fully equipped rooms with electricity, western toilet facility, wi-fi, and hot showers. Whereas some tea houses, especially at the higher altitude offer very basic kind of services.

You will be accommodated on a twin-basis during the trek. Most single rooms have twin beds with some basic furniture like a small table or a chair. If you want a single room for yourself, let us know in advance before the trek.

Normally, beds contain pillow and sheets. Almost all tea houses provide blankets but it is advisable to use your sleeping bag which will be provided by us in case it becomes too cold.

Some tea houses especially those at lower altitudes have proper western toilets. As you move higher some tea houses use squat toilet facilities. Also, it is important to know that some tea houses do not provide toilet paper in the toilets.

In higher altitudes, you will usually have to pay extra for charting electronic devices or taking a hot shower. Laundry services are also available in some lodges at an extra price. Wifi cards can also be bought at these lodges. There are multiple options available depending on the data limit and speed.
