Before climbing Lobuche East peak, prior climbing experience is required for a successful summit, as it is more challenging than other famous trekking peaks in Nepal. Therefore, pre-climbing training will be held at the base camp of the Lobuche by our experienced and professional mountain expert instructors. You will learn to utilize the climbing gear, such as ice axes, climbing boots, and crampons, harnesses, ascenders, etc. and learn essential skills that will bring you the confidence to reach the summit.

The route to Lobuche East Peak!

There are three different trails, the popular trail to Lobuche East Peak Climbing is through the South Ridge, which ascends through steep snow and ice slopes to the top from the summit ridge. The Lobuche East Peak consists of several small summits. Lobuche peak includes two different peaks, Lobuche East Peak at 6,119m and Lobuche West Peak at 6,145m in the Khumbu region that lies above the Lobuche Sherpa village. The West Peak is known as the expedition peak, and East Peak is known as the climbing peak.

The trekking trail to Lobuche East Peak begins with an eye-captivating flight to Lukla where the actual trekking journey starts. You begin trekking along the bank of the DudhKoshi river and through the dense rhododendron forest, after which you reach Namche Bazaar, a famous, ancient trading post between Nepal and Tibet. Most climbers stop here to acclimatize to the altitude before heading up to the EBC. Then, the trail continues through the Tengboche which is famous for the largest, ancient monastery where the views of mountains at sunrise and sunset are amazing. Walking further, you reach Pangboche, the highest Sherpa village in the Khumbu region, and then Dingboche, a beautiful fertile village. The trail to Lobuche East Peak and Everest Base Camp is filled with multi-colored blooming rhododendrons, pine and juniper forests, beautiful rivers, multiple suspension bridges, chortens—Buddhist shines, Mani walls, and prayer flags.   1. Day 01 Welcome to Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff members will be waiting at the exit gate to welcome you and take you to the hotel, where you will rest for a while. Our team will be waiting to meet you at our office. In the evening, you will have a welcome dinner along with our team in a typical Nepali restaurant, where you can taste real Nepali food and view a live traditional dance. Also, you will meet our team and your tour guide during a short meeting.

    Note: Dinner and an introductory meeting will be organized as per your arrival time. If it is not the day of your arrival, it will be postponed for the next day.

  2. Day 02 One-day Short Kathmandu Trip and Trek Orientation

    You will have an entire day of sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley, the capital city of Nepal. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, your tour guide will take you to the world-famous historical and religious tourist sites of Nepal: thePashupatinath Temple, the Swayambunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. All these sites are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Returning from this short trip, you will have time to rest, and then there will be an orientation meeting on trekking in the Everest region. The session will focus on providing information about trekking in Nepal and answer your questions. Please, check your equipment after the meeting and let us know if you need any equipment. We will help you buy any necessary trekking gear.

  3. Day 03 Flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport (Lukla) at 2,800m and Trek to Phakding at 2,652m

    Flight Time: 40 minutes, Trekking Time: 3 to 4 hours

    A breathtaking flight to Lukla over the lush green valleys and towering snow-clad peaks takes you to the beautiful Tenzing Hillary airstrip of Lukla. After having lunch and enjoying a brief rest, we will walk along the farmlands, the quaint Cheplung village, and the banks of the DudhKoshi River. The trail passes through a moderate incline and downhill path until it reaches the beautiful Phakding village from Lukla.

  4. Day 04 Trek to Namche Bazaar at 3,440m

    Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours

    This day’s trail passes over many suspension bridges across the DudhKoshi River before reaching the entrance of the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park at Monjo. The trail then crosses the dense forest bedecked with rhododendrons where we will encounter endangered Himalayan wildlife. An uphill trek up to the Namche Bazaar takes you to the most popular trekking stop of the Khumbu region. The Namche Bazaar is a gateway to the Everest region which offers your first sight of Mt. Everest and the other surrounding peaks.

  5. Day 05 First Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

    This is your first day to acclimatize yourself to the higher elevation properly. To avoid altitude sickness, we will do a short hike up to the Sherpa Museum and Everest View Hotel. Hiking up to the local Sherpa museum will provide you with some extra information about the culture, festivals, and history of the Sherpa people along with the information about the diverse flora and fauna found in the Khumbu region. Furthermore, hiking up to the Everest View Hotel offers you beautiful views of Mt. Everest at 8,848m and the entire Khumbu valley. After returning to Namche, you will have time to rest.

  6. Day 06 Trek to Tengboche at 3,870m

    Trekking Time: 5 to 6 hours

    After having your breakfast and witnessing the beautiful sunrise views over the radiant mountains, we will continue our trek to Tengboche. The trail passes through the rhododendron and pine forests and crosses the festooned bridge over the DudhKoshi River. On the way, small, attractive villages adorned with prayer flags will appear. While trekking, enjoy the views of many mountains such as Mt. Everest at8,848m, Mt. Lhotse at 8,414m, Mt. Nuptse at 7,861m, Mt. Thamserku at 6,608m, Mt. AmaDablam at 6,856m, and Mt. KongdeRi. First, we will descend towards the ImjaKhola and then ascend to reach Tengboche, which is famous for the largest monastery in Khumbu valley.

  7. Day 07 Trek to Dingboche at 4,360m

    Trekking Time: 5 to 6 hours

    Before heading along further trekking trails, we will visit the Tengboche monastery where you can enjoy fantastic sunrise views, including the Himalayan ranges along the backdrop of the monastery. After returning, we will descend along the rhododendron forests, cross a suspension bridge over the ImjaKhola, and ascend towards the Pangboche village. A further climb leads you to the vast fertile landscape of Dingboche. The trail passes through several chortens—Buddhist shines, Mani walls, and small traditional villages. Here you can witness the mountain views, especially Mt. AmaDablam.

  8. Day 08 Second Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

    This will be another acclimatizing day for altitude in the beautiful village of Dingboche, which is a popular resting point for many Everest trekkers. Rather than rest all day, a hike up to nearby places will be good for to properly adapting yourself to the higher elevation. Hiking up to Chhukung or NangkartshangGompa will provide you with an excellent view of Mt Makalu at 8,463m, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Tawache, and Mt. AmaDablam. Upon your return from your hike, you can interact with the local people to experience the Himalayan lifestyle and warm hospitality.

  9. Day 09 Trek to Lobuche at 4,940m

    Trekking Time:  5 to 6 hours

    The trail to Lobuche descends to Dugla via the Pheriche village following a steep ascent over the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. Encounter the stone memorials of Everest climbers festooned with prayer ribbons on the way to Lobuche. Enjoy views of Mt. AmaDablam, Mt. Tawache, KongmaTse, and Mt. Nuptse.

  10. Day 10 Trek to GorakShep at 5,180m and Hike to Everest Base Camp at 5,365m

    Trekking Time: 6 to 7 hours

    After having your breakfast, the trek continues onward to GorakShep. Over many inclines and descents along the trail to EBC, you will be rewarded with the mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks. The trail passes through streams, the moraine, and rocky hills. Please use your equipment and stay with the crew through this critical path. Then, celebrate your success in accomplishing one of the most challenging treks in Nepal. Witness the beauty of Everest right in front of you! Feel the energy that has been radiating off this highest mountain for thousands of years! Afterward, trek back to GorakShep following the same route.

  11. Day 11 Hike to Kala Patthar at 5,555m and Return to Lobuche at 4,940m

    Trekking Time: 8 hours

    Kala Patthar offers you a 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Everest and the surrounding mountains of Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. AmaDablam, Mt. Thamserku, and many more. An early morning trek to Kala Patthar provides you with an amazing sunrise view over the towering mountains. To escape the treacherously windy weather, we will start our trek very early in the morning. The trails ascend and descend. Walking downhill to Pheriche through the moraine and crossing the bridge over the stream, we will return to Lobuche.

  12. Day 12 Hike to Lobuche Peak Base Camp at 4,950m then to Lobuche High Camp at 5,400m

    Trekking Time: 1 to 2 hours and 3 to 4 hours

    After enjoying an early breakfast, we will trek to the Lobuche Peak Base Camp and then High Camp. In the initial phase of the trail takes you to the lowland landscapes and later go through rocky and steep sections. Passing the Lobuche glacier, you will enjoy views of Mt. AmaDablam, Pokalde, Cholatse, Kantega, Thamserku, etc. towards the horizon. Reaching the Lobuche base camp, we will make necessary climbing preparations for the hike up to the High Camp. The further trail up to high camp continues through a rocky path along the glacier. After reaching the high camp, we will take some rest and prepare for climbing Lobuche East Peak Summit.

  13. Day 13 Hike to Lobuche East Peak at 6,119m and Return to High Camp

    Trekking Time: 8 to 10 hours

    After enjoying an early breakfast, we will begin further preparations to climb the summit. Here, we will use our trekking gear, such as ropes, ice packs, and harnesses, as per our tour guide’s instructions. We must leave very early in the morning to make it back down to high camp by afternoon. From the summit of Lobuche East, you will witness the splendid panoramic vistas of many mountains, such as Everest, Makalu, AmaDablam, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, etc.. Later, we will descend to the High Camp following the same route.

  14. Day 14 Trek to Pangboche at 3,985m

    Trekking Duration: 4 to 5 hours

    Today, we will trek to the lower elevations. A downhill trek via the Pheriche village will take you to Pangboche. The route to Pangboche from the Lobuche High Camp offers you views of the snow-peaked landscapes while passing through rhododendron and juniper forests. We will visit the Pangboche monastery.

  15. Day 15 Trek to Namche Bazaar

    Trekking Duration: 4 to 5 hours

    Today we will trek down to ImjaKhola, where we will cross suspension bridges over the DudhKoshi River, dense forests decked with rhododendrons, and pass a chorten-Buddhist shrine, until we reach the Namche Bazaar. On the way, you will view many native plants and wild animals. The Namche Bazaar is an attractive trade hub for the Tibetan and Nepalese. Feel free to roam around the local market, visit the Sherpa museums, and interact with the local people.

  16. Day 16 Trek to Lukla

    Trekking Duration: 6 to 7 hours

    The last day of your trek continues with the steep downhill trail to Lukla. You will have to amble to avoid injury. We will cross the suspension bridges over the DudhKoshi River, pass the rhododendron forests, and enjoy the snowy mountains views for the last time before reaching Lukla.

  17. Day 17 Fly to Kathmandu

    Once again, you will enjoy the breathtaking, scenic flight over the snow-capped mountains and lush green landscapes. After reaching the airport, you will be transported to the hotel. After checking in to your hotel, you can rest for a while, and visit the most delightful tourist hub, Thamel. At the night, we will have dinner hosted by Real Sherpa Adventures to celebrate the success of our team.

  18. Day 18 Reserve Day

    This day is reserved in case we need to make any changes to your trekking schedule. If we do not need it, you can use this day for either a full day of rest or further exploring the city.

  19. Day 19 Final Departure

    Today you will depart from Nepal. After your breakfast, our staff will drop you off at the Kathmandu International Airport. We hope to see you again! Have a safe journey!

Hotels, Tea Houses and Lodges

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be in a 3 or 4-star hotel.

Accommodation during the trek will be in tea house or lodges. Some accommodations at lower altitudes offer fully equipped rooms with electricity, western toilet facility, wi-fi, and hot showers. Whereas some tea houses, especially at the higher altitude offer very basic kind of services.

You will be accommodated on a twin-basis during the trek. Most single rooms have twin beds with some basic furniture like a small table or a chair. If you want a single room for yourself, let us know in advance before the trek.

Normally, beds contain pillow and sheets. Almost all tea houses provide blankets but it is advisable to use your sleeping bag which will be provided by us in case it becomes too cold.

Some tea houses especially those at lower altitudes have proper western toilets. As you move higher some tea houses use squat toilet facilities. Also, it is important to know that some tea houses do not provide toilet paper in the toilets.

In higher altitudes, you will usually have to pay extra for charting electronic devices or taking a hot shower. Laundry services are also available in some lodges at an extra price. Wifi cards can also be bought at these lodges. There are multiple options available depending on the data limit and speed.
