OVERVIEW

Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. With an altitude of 6461 meters, it is one of the most fascinating climbing destinations among trekkers and climbers throughout the globe. Mera peak is a technically challenging trek due to its elevation. The Mera Peak trail goes through an isolated wilderness with natural surroundings, far away from human settlements. Situated at the edge of the Khumbu Region, the atmosphere at Mera Peak is dominated by the world’s highest mountain: Everest. Although it is technically a tough trekking peak, those with some trekking experience who enjoy a challenge can easily summit the peak. Climbers should have excellent physical fitness and an extroverted sense of adventure to successfully climb Mera Peak. If you long to climb and have a strong sense of adventure, then don’t worry. Real Sherpa Adventure will carefully organize a climbing itinerary to get you well acclimatized to the altitude and conditions. Not only that, but we will also provide training before going for the final climb. We will provide a well-trained, professional, and experienced Sherpa guide to guide you during your ascent of Mera Peak. Climbers will trek through the famous Hinku Valley by traversing a lush forest on the way, along with breathtaking views of the Himalayas in the background.

From the top, You’ll be able to see the southern face of Everest, and the wild and heavily wooded Hongu Drangkas and Hinku Valleys from this hidden paradise. This amazing Mera Peak climb will offer its legendary route, where you can experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of venturing through the little-visited and as-of-yet unspoiled region of Nepal still graced by pristine, densely forested hillsides. The Mera Peak trail is filled with beautiful green forests, enormous moraines, incredible glacial Lakes, and beautiful snow-capped peaks in the distance such as Chamlang and Baruntse.

Technical Skills you’ll need to know before climbing Mera Peak

Before attempting the Mera Peak trail, climbers will be provided a short training course and learn the essential climbing skills and techniques such as; ascending and descending on a straightforward climb, using fixed ropes, glacier travel and more. The Mera Peak Trail is relatively straightforward, filled with ice and snow which requires an ice-axe, crampons, and some fixed rope while climbing. Climbing training will surely boost your confidence and ensure you have all of the necessary climbing skills to scale the summit successfully.

The best time to attempt Mera Peak

Although the best time for a vacation to Nepal is year-round, some trekkers and climbers prefer spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) as the best seasons to attempt to climb Mera Peak, due to their perfect visibility and amenable weather conditions.
