    Overview

    Yala Peak 5732m considers a relatively easier and non-technical climb and Langtang Valley is a less popular destination than Everest or Annapurna, there are fewer tourists in this area Yala peak Located in the heart of the Langtang Himalayan range and close to the Tibetan border. this Peak Climbing offers a journey through the Tibetan-influenced villages in Langtang with a massive range of biodiversity also the trail goes through the Oak and rhododendron forest of the Langtang National Park.

    This trip gives the chance to experience unique traditions to mountain people, and the best thrill of adventure of trekking and peak climbing in the Langtang region.  The trip starts from Kathmandu and drive to Syabrubesi, a couple of days trek up Langtang valley through forests and villages. We reach Kyanjin Gumpa at the foot of imposing Langtang Lirung (7246 m) to take a rest day and explore Buddhist monasteries. we will hike to Tserko Ri (4984m) viewpoint to view the stunning Langtang valley and the Himalayan range. Then, we continue our climbing trip to summit the Yala peak.  From the top, we will be able to see mountains such as Langtang (7,227m), Yala (5,500m), Shishapangma (8,013m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m).

    Then we set our base camp at (4800m) and provide necessary climbing skills and training, How to use crampons, ice axe, and rope and climb the Yala peak summit the next day. From the summit, we will view outstanding mountain views of Langtang Lirung (7,246m),), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Ganesh Himal, Naya Kanga.  in the Nepal side, towards the Tibet is  Gangchempo (6388m), and mighty Shishapangma( 8027m) – the only solo mountain in Tibet with a height above (8000 m). After the successful Yala Peak climb, we return back to Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu.

    1. Day 01 Arrive Kathmandu (1300m)

      Arrival in Kathmandu, we are greeted at the airport by our team and transferred to the hotel, to take advantage of a time of rest, briefing of presentation of the progress of the trek, then free time. In case of arrival in the morning, free day: rest or the possibility of making free visits for those who wish. This is the perfect opportunity to immerse you in Nepalese culture and to test the local gastronomy.

    2. Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu to shyabru besi (14060m). 8-9hour

      As soon as we leave Kathmandu, the road rises and crosses a small pass at Kakani, at 2145 meters above sea level. On a clear day, the panorama is superb: on our left the Annapurna II, the Manaslu, and in front of us the Ganesh Himal massif. The road then plunges down to the wide valley of the Trisuli to arrive at the large village of the same name. Then we go back up by a winding road to Shyabru Bensi with a stop in Kalikhastan, the entry point into Langtang National Park.

    3. Day 03 Trek from shyabru to lama hotel (2470m). 6-7hour

      Beginning of the trek, we cross the village of Shyabru, then terraced crops and a thick forest of oak, alder, and bamboo. We change banks by crossing the Langtang Khola River, by a wide suspension bridge. Some climbs and descents in landslides make this day not monotonous, despite the few visible dwellings in this wooded region. We cross the tumultuous Langtang Khola again before starting a steep climb up to Rimche, at 2,250 meters. The descent towards Changtang, called “Lama Hotel” (name of the first lodge built in this hamlet) is finally gentle.

    4. Day 04 Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3400m). 5-6hour

      We gradually climb into the forest and a few openings between the trees let us contemplate the limpid blue river below. Then, around a clearing, the Langtang Lirung (7,246 m) appears, majestic. The trail crosses a suspension bridge and then climbs in the middle of yak meadows to Ghoratabela, a pastoral village mainly occupied by Tibetans. The trail climbs steadily within the valley widening as we progress. We come across several typically Tamang houses, as well as the first Manis, the prayer walls. Arrival in Langtang, a village recognizable by its Tibetan-style houses with flat roofs, is imminent.

    5. Day 05 Trek from langtang to Kyanjin gumpa (3870m). 4-5hour

      The path winds through the largest village in the valley and joins a ridge dominated by a large square Chorten and its long prayer wall. From there, access to a small moraine allows you to contemplate the Kyanjin gumpa: the site is magnificent. Then we will descent towards the lodges and the local cheese factory.

      In the afternoon, the possibility of making an excursion to Kyanjin Ri (4773 m) which offers a remarkable point of view: Langtang Lirung (7227 m), Yala Peak (5050 m), Langshisha Ri (6560 m), massif from Urkeinmang Himal (6143 m), among many other peaks. If you do not want to make this excursion, you can go up the wide Langtang valley, which rises very gently, towards the summer pastures of the yaks.

    6. Day 06 Trek from Kyanjin Gumba to Yala Base Camp (4600m).6hrs

      The winding path along with the mountainous landscapes we continue the ascent to the Yala Base Camp. A six-hour continuous ascent over the hills trail will take us to our base camp. We will have a proper rest. Then, we are prepared for the next day summit climb. We will stay in a tented camp.

    7. Day 07 Trek from base camp to Tserogo RI (4984m).5-6 hour

      Day dedicated to the discovery of the upper Langtang valley and acclimatization for the summit. The Tsergo Ri, from where the wide mountain and lower view can observe. Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Naya Kanga (5846 m), Dorje Lakpa (6966 m), Langshisa Ri (6427 m), Ganchenpo (6378 m), and, in the distance, the summit of Shishapangma (8013 m). Also prepare for summit Yala peak.

    8. Day 08 Summit to Yala Peak 5500m and back to Kyanjin Gumba (3830m). 8hrs

      we will have our warm breakfast and head towards the Yala Peak our destination of the trek early in the morning. The rough path will take us to the top of the summit from where we can enjoy the clear stunning view of high mountains and beautiful views of the tranquil landscapes of the Langtang region. The surrounding Himalayas include Langtang Lirung (7227m), Langtang II (6596m), and other peaks.
      After the summit the top and enjoying the views capturing the beautiful moment in our camera, we will descend to Kyanjin Gumba.

    9. Day 09 Reserve Day for climbing in case of bad weather

      The weather in the mountain is uncertain more often than not. This day is reserved as an alternative day to climb the Yala peak if the weather is not favorable. If the climate condition is favorable, then this day will not be required.

    10. Day 10 Trek from Kyanjin Gumba to Lama Hotel 2410m/5hrs

      we will descend back to Lama Hotel and take about four to five hours. Slowly, we will descend with enjoying the beautiful views and alpine vegetation. The majority of the trekking route runs along the Langtang River. We will explore and wander around the villages on our way.

    11. Day 11 Trek from Lama Hotel to Khangjim 2235m/5hrs via Sherpa Gaon

      The route is mostly descended as we head to Kyanjin. A five hours walk along with the forests and few settlements like Sherpa village we will reach Khangjim. We will explore the small village, Sherpa Gaon, and enjoy the local lifestyle and lunch before heading towards Khangjim. Still, we can observe the influence of Tibetan culture as we make way to our destination for the day.

    12. Day 12 Trek from Khangjim to Syabrubensi (1503m). 5hrs

      The trekking path passes through the rhododendron and bamboo forests and crossing some suspension bridges. The trail is descending so it will be easier for us to reach Syabrubensi. We are continuously accompanied by beautiful landscapes and rich wildlife thriving in the forests as we return to Syabrubensi.

    13. Day 13 Drive from Syabrubensi to Kathmandu by private 4W land cruiser and transfer to Hotel

      Enjoying and observing the final view of the Himalayans and green vegetation we will back the same path along the Tirshuli Khola in our private vehicle. On arriving at Kathmandu we will transfer you to the hotel for rest. You can explore the city and shop for souvenirs to mark the end of your trip.

    14. Day 14 Final Departure to International Airport

      We will drive you back to Tribhuvan International Airport for your scheduled flight to your destination.

    Hotels, Tea Houses and Lodges

    Accommodation in Kathmandu will be in a 3 or 4-star hotel.

    Accommodation during the trek will be in tea house or lodges. Some accommodations at lower altitudes offer fully equipped rooms with electricity, western toilet facility, wi-fi, and hot showers. Whereas some tea houses, especially at the higher altitude offer very basic kind of services.

    You will be accommodated on a twin-basis during the trek. Most single rooms have twin beds with some basic furniture like a small table or a chair. If you want a single room for yourself, let us know in advance before the trek.

    Normally, beds contain pillow and sheets. Almost all tea houses provide blankets but it is advisable to use your sleeping bag which will be provided by us in case it becomes too cold.

    Some tea houses especially those at lower altitudes have proper western toilets. As you move higher some tea houses use squat toilet facilities. Also, it is important to know that some tea houses do not provide toilet paper in the toilets.

    In higher altitudes, you will usually have to pay extra for charting electronic devices or taking a hot shower. Laundry services are also available in some lodges at an extra price. Wifi cards can also be bought at these lodges. There are multiple options available depending on the data limit and speed.
