There are few lodge facilities available in Limi Valley and camping can also be done if you want to experience true camping.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
As mentioned above the Limi Valley trek is challenging, therefore it demands trekkers to be physically fit. You need to prepare yourself physically for this challenging adventure. Walking, running, cycling, and swimming can be done prior to two months of the trek in order to build your stamina. This will be helpful for your entire trekking journey and will be easy for you.
PERFECT SEASON TO START YOUR TREK
Since Humla Limi Valley is in a rain shadow, it is ideal to hike across throughout the summer or monsoon season,. In contrast to other sections of the country that receive a lot of rain, particularly in July and August, the Humla Limi Valley experiences sunny, dry days with the best-ever greenery throughout the year. Therefore summer and monsoon will be the best seasons to start your hike.
However, this trek can be done in spring and autumn when temperatures are at normal and you can enjoy the pleasant weather of the valley. You shouldn’t trek during the winter seasons as the temperature drops down and even roads are blocked with thick-covered snow. Hence, the winter season is not suitable for this trek.
PERMITS AND FEES FOR THE TREK
Limi Valley trek is a restricted area, hence it requires Special Trekking Permits to conduct the trek. You also need to obtain a Trekking Information System ( TIMS). The Special trekking permits for Limi Valley will cost $ 50 per person for the first week and had to pay an additional amount of $ 7 each day person. The Trekking Information System will cost you NRS 1,000. You can obtain these permits with the help of a recognized Nepal trekking agency. The cost of the Limi Valley trek is structured as follows: Twin-share with minimum guiding will cost approximately US$2,725 per person, while twin-share fully supported is approximately US$4,250 per person.
VARIOUS ROUTE OPTIONS AVAILABLE
The Limi Valley old trading trail route, links with Tibet, Nepal, and India. A second path is also being built to connect the Limi Valley with the Salli Ghad Valley. Although there are no protected areas in Humla, you cannot trek anywhere in the region without a controlled area permit. It can incorporate a visit to Rara Lake within this excursion.
